Empowered Voice with Dev Suroop

The voice is a living bridge between body, breath, and inner knowing.
This work supports grounded expression that comes from alignment rather than effort.

Empowered Sound

Through the voice, we can access a vast treasure of techniques and resources to enliven our beings, create calm in the chaos, and connect with our spirit and unlimited potential.

What is Empowered Voice?

Empowered Voice is a space for people who want a steadier, more truthful relationship with their voice.
The work centers the body, breath, and inner listening so expression comes from clarity rather than effort or performance.

This is both a practice space and a learning environment. The focus is on cultivating a grounded voice and then applying that steadiness to how you speak, lead, and make decisions in the world.

The emphasis is not on fixing yourself—but on restoring contact with what’s already there.

About Dev Suroop

Dev Suroop is the founder of Empowered Voice and has spent a lifetime working with the voice as a source of clarity, stability, and inner authority. Her work draws from long-standing practice in sound, breath, and embodied awareness, alongside decades of experience in business leadership.

With an MBA and many years in executive roles, she understands the pressures of responsibility, visibility, and decision-making. Her teaching bridges inner orientation with real-world application—supporting expression that is grounded, steady, and aligned rather than performative.

Dev Suroop is also a musician and vocalist, with recordings spanning chant, meditation, jazz, and classical Indian music. Her approach integrates discipline, listening, and lived experience rather than methods or formulas.

She lives in New Mexico and continues to develop Empowered Voice as a practice-based space for honest expression.

What are people saying

"Dev Suroop has created a meditative method for taking a deep dive into Sound. It's like you are finding the sound of your own voice & using it to listen to & communicate with the Universe. She has a very personable & warm presence on Zoom which makes for a cozy teaching environment. Love it!"

Siri Dharma, Silver City, New Mexico

"I just wanted to thank you for the teachings this weekend. My sister introduced me to this whole idea of sound over the last year but I couldn’t quite understand it. Your teaching put it all into perspective for me. It was like a light bulb went off. Suddenly, Kirtan Kriya [a chanting meditation] doesn’t feel like a chore. Rather, I’ve been looking forward to it. Thanks again! I look forward to next time."

Pat Martel, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

"You are a great teacher who makes every student feel they are special - and that life is fun to live. You give people hope in a natural way. You don't preach and teach as kids share toys amongst themselves. In that way people see the world with a more open mind, more fun and curiosity, and full of joy."

Nguyen Tien Nghia, Bangkok, Thailand
